ABOUT PSYCH IN TEXAS

Psych In Texas is a celebration of the psychedelic music scene that’s been ever exploding across Texas and beyond.

It started the way all good things do — friends, bands, and conversations about how this music deserves a real home during SXSW week. Not a corporate showcase. Not a badge-only room. Just a place where fuzz-soaked guitars, hypnotic grooves, and mind-bending visuals coexist the way they’re meant to: loud, raw, and shared with people who actually care.

Built by Olivia Rains and Billy Slater, members of Austin psych band The Dead Canyon Family Reunion, Psych In Texas brings together underground psych, garage, shoegaze, and experimental bands from around the country with a focus on Texas — all on one stage.

We chose 13th Floor because it’s more than a venue — it’s the beating heart of Austin’s modern psych movement. Since opening, it has given a home to bands pushing boundaries, building community, and keeping the spirit of psychedelic music alive in this city. Hosting Psych In Texas here just made sense.

This isn’t about industry hype or chasing trends. It’s about connection — between bands, fans, and a scene that thrives on creativity, collaboration, and shared energy.
